Summer means sweltering humidity, especially in July and August. Tokyo hits 35°C with 80% humidity. But it's also festival season - if you can handle the heat, you'll catch matsuri celebrations and fireworks. Winter divides the region. Northern Japan gets world-class powder snow perfect for skiing. Southern China stays pleasant. Korea's winters bite hard, but you'll have palaces and temples mostly to yourself. Monsoon season (June-July) varies by location.
