Sikkim in September
Not the best time
September isn't ideal for Sikkim. Consider a different month.
All Months
March to May offers the best weather — clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and rhododendrons blooming across the mountains. April is peak season for mountain views, but expect crowds at popular spots. October and November deliver crisp, clear days perfect for trekking and photography. The post-monsoon air is clean, making Kanchenjunga visible from Gangtok most mornings. Avoid June to September — the monsoon brings heavy rains, landslides, and road closures. Many high-altitude areas become inaccessible. December to February is cold but clear, with snow at higher elevations. You'll need warm clothes, but the mountain views are spectacular. Just know that some mountain passes and northern areas close due to snow. Spring (March-May) works best for families and first-time visitors, while autumn (October-November) suits serious trekkers and photographers who want perfect mountain visibility.
